Dutch in Context Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 3, 2026

Dutch in Context is a native iOS app that helps learners practice Dutch with news, stories, saved vocabulary, and flashcards. This policy describes how the iOS app handles your data.

You can browse news and stories without an account. Saving words, flashcards, and synced content require signing in with Apple.

Data We Collect

How We Use Data

Sharing And Service Providers

Dutch in Context does not sell your data and does not use third-party tracking or advertising SDKs in the iOS app. We use service providers that process data on our behalf to run the service, including:

When you save words, search queries linked to your saved vocabulary may be processed on our servers to power in-app search features.

Reading content in the app may include links to third-party websites (for example, the original news publisher). If you open such a link, you leave the app. That site's privacy practices apply on that site, not in Dutch in Context.

Retention And Deletion

Account and learning data are kept while your account is active. You can delete your account in the app from Settings → Privacy → Delete account. Deletion signs you out immediately; you can continue browsing as a guest without an account.

Account deletion removes your account, sessions, saved words, saved content, flashcard progress, and related search indexes from our active systems. Operational logs and backups, if present, may remain for a limited period for security and reliability.

Deletion is permanent for that learning data. If you sign in again with the same Apple ID, a new empty account is created; previous saves and progress are not restored. Removing the app from Settings → Apple ID → Sign in with Apple only affects Apple's sign-in authorization for the app, not data already deleted on our servers.

Children

Dutch in Context is not directed at children under 13.
